Day 15 (or maybe Day 4, 8, 16, 23 or 42) of the 365-day charity trainer challenge in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK, in which I aim to wear a different pair of trainers every day in 2014…
Picked this natty pair – with their intriguing pattern – in a charity shop run by a mysterious woman called Eloise. She said they’s been on the shelves since at least 1974, though they looked brand new, almost as if they’d been through a time warp.
There’s even a name inside; must remember to Google it one day…
Got to make it brief today as I seem to be stalked by a polar bear and a heavy smoker. Just enough time to mention that we’re nearly at the £300 mark in the total pledged, which is great and I appreciate wholeheartedly every donation made so far. But remember, every £20 I raise will pay for an hour of vital research, bringing Alzheimer’s Research UK closer to finding ways to diagnose, prevent, treat and cure Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Usual sign off:
Current total: £280 (many thanks for the pledges yesterday!)
