I’ve been conned. Or rather not Conned. Today’s trainers are not what they seem. But they can still play their part in 365-day charity challenge…
X-Men unite! These trainers must be destroyed! Well, they would be if the French Ministry of Culture had its way. Because these trainers are… FAKE! And I didn’t need Fiona Bruce to discover that for me.
Yep, a couple of years back I fell foul of eBay shysters, and bought some counterfeit Cons online. To be honest, it was pretty obvious straight away: the toe caps aren’t quite the right shape; the stitching looks like it’s been done by a pissed Ewok; the star on the heel of one is all wonky. I should’ve sent them back. But they were cheap, and kosher camouflage Cons were tricky to track down back then. Plus, only real trainers snobs like me would ever notice and if the fashion police did come calling, well… they’re easy to hide. Hang on – where have they gone?
Hmmm. Another pair with a stealth mode.
Brief blog again today, I’m afraid. Thursdays and Fridays are proving stupidly busy at the moment while I’m working out how to make producing Comic Review less of a hassle to produce. But looking forward to drink or three this evening.
See you back here at the weekend!
Current total: £445 (come on – let’s het £500 before the end of February!)
