Everything goes upside-down in the latest installment of the 365 day charity challenge… a different pair of trainers and a bad sci-fi gag every day for 2014
Found a new setting on my camera. It’s like Doctor Who’s perception filter, except it makes you look like you’re in a Christopher Nolan film…
Actually, no special effect trickery was involved in the making of this photo, though a few vertebrae may have been injured.
Hang on, the blood’s all rushed to my head. I need a lie down…
Today’s shoes are a pair of Deakins Athletics…
Pause for tumbleweeds.
No, meant nothing to me either when they turned up in the post courtesy of an old school mate, Miles. Doing a bit of Googling, Deakins appears to be a fashion company based in Leeds that specialises in the kind of yoof clothing you see in through-the-front-door free catalogues and JD Sports. That would normally send me into snobby mode, but some of their shoes and trainers are actually pretty sharply designed a not at all bad.
But there is a bizarre love of quilting going on in their footwear collection that makes me think of 1980s TV sci-fi costume design for some reason. Then again, quilted anoraks are all in vogue at the moment; find some quilted jogging pants (I’m sure JD must do them) and you could be the 21 Century’s answer to the Michelin Man This pair are less offensively quilted than some.
Apologies for tardiness in posting today. Had a massive lie-in, which is rare for me.
See you tomorrow for the Sunday Special!
Current total: £530
