Ah, a headline that brings to mind either Kylie Minogue or Wonder Woman, both famous for wearing some very tight, shiny hot pants…
Wonder Woman figures a lot in my life at the moment. And no I don’t mean naughty dreams about Lynda Carter fighting for your rights in satin tights (that was a couple of decades or so back). There are no less than three (connected) features on DC premiere female superhero in the next issue of Comic Heroes, and their writer, Matt Bielby, sent me all three yesterday. So today will be a massive Wonder Woman subbing fest and picture research jamboree for me.
So what better day to for me to go for a spin and transform some plain old Converse into some Wonder Woman Converse?
(Damn, still not used to Vine… thought I’d be able to edit that “Coming Soon” bit after I’d published it… but you live and learn! And God, Vine has some vile user comments, doesn’t it? Love the rather pathetic plea from the people who run it, “PLEASE say something nice”.)
The trainers are another loan pair from Narin Bahar, who provided the Catwoman pair last week. Here’s a shot of them from the other side, because it would be a shame not to show them off in all their glory.
There was a temptation to quietly wear these on a Sunday when I wasn’t planning on going anywhere, but hey, where’s the fun in that? This is a charity challenge! I don’t mind being pointed at laughed at (Though I may need counselling by the end of the day).
Besides, they’re not as garish as a pair I’ve got coming up. Here’s a sneak preview. Wonder if I’ll be brave enough to wear these to the London Super Comic Con at the weekend? Maybe if I get enough new donations!? (And I bet Jonathan Ross would approve… maybe I could get him to sign them.)
By the way, did you know that the creator of Wonder Woman, William Moulton Marston, was also the creator of the systolic blood pressure test, which became one component of the modern polygraph, or lie detector. So we’ve got Wonder Woman to blame for The Jeremy Kyle show.
But how could you stay angry at a face like this?
Current total: £550
