Not so much a storm as a drizzle of swords, as the 365 day charity challenges sends some recycled Rasta trainers to Westeros. Just because…
Okay, shameless, self-pimping post today. I made the video below and I want people to see it. So, therefore, a pair of recycled Raster trainers make an appearance in a Game Of Thrones-themed photo for no better reason than… I had to wear them at some point. And anyway… “A Song Of Lace And Fire?” Had to be done.
You’ve had a sneak preview of the vid before, but now here’s the full one that’ll be going on the SFX website on Friday to promote the release of the latest SFX Special Edition: The Ultimate Guide To Fantasy (wot I edited with my gud grandma and speeling), so ignore the “on sale now” bit for the moment.
The trainers a pair of Adidas Nizza Lo Grün, launched in 2o1o, and they’re sooooooo right on. Those of you with a command of German (or the ability to make a simple logical leap) will know that Grün is German for green, and these babies are made from completely recycled materials.
I bought them of eBay (for 99p plus P&P would you believe?) which makes them even more recycled, and now they’re taking part in a challenge to raise money for charity which musty makes them about them about the most politically correct trainers in the history of history.
Except they were probably made in a sweat shop by someone who’d have to work a year to afford a pair.
Big, global business – turning Green into just another sales pitch.
And quite why the stripes are in Rasta colours I have no idea. But they’re very pretty. Anyone fancy some Gange Of Thrones?
Current total: £565 (creeping up there! Thank you!)
