With thanks to a gag from “Asylum Of The Daleks” and an egg from PlanetOddity.com
I’m not really into Easter. I’m not religious and chocolate gives me migraines so if there’s not a new series of Doctor Who starting Easter pretty much passes me by. But I thought I’d make an attempt to get into the mood. I was going to make the Dalek, but with the crazy, not-my-fault (did I mention that?) SFX special meaning I have to go into work today, I pilfered him off PlanetOddity.com to save time.
The trainers are another on-loan pair, this time from Russell Lewin of SFX fame. What is it about the SFX team and brown Adidas? David Bradley also has a brown pair of Adidas to loan me, I’ve already worn Rich’s and I believe Jordan has a pair too. Is it some team uniform I haven’t been told about? (Then again, nearly everybody on the team owns a pair of black Cons too, but then… doesn’t everybody?)
Since I’m in work today I made the most of the day off yesterday by – not gardening, as I said on the Blog – but by going on a 40 plus mile cycle ride. I actually made it half way round the Avon Cycleway but used a shortcut back home rather than complete the 85-mile circuit. I wasn’t knackered but my arse was beginning to feel like I was sitting on sandpaper. Plus my arms were getting sunburnt (and big a bloke, no, I hadn’t taken a long sleeved top me, and no, I had no sun block… that would have taken planning).
Still, it’s made me determined to complete the entire circuit someday soon. Even if the section I completed was woefully short on pubs. Or even shops! Just when you think the route is heading into a town where you’ll be able to buy some water, suddenly the root veers off down another cattle track.
It was very scenic, though, and at least I wasn’t on the M5. I passed over that at one point and the westbound lanes were doing a great impression of a car park. I also passed this thing on the left. Must find out what it is. Great to see swathes of bluebells, too.
Anyway, off to work now. Not that I’m grumbling or anything.
